About the Class:
In response to interest for a more advanced letterpress workshop, we’ve created this one-on-one session to provide a full, in-depth and hands-on experience of designing and letterpress printing.

Design:
The class participant should have a general idea of what they would like to design and be able to execute with assistance. During the design portion, we will review all aspects of designing for letterpress printing, complete the design and file preparation for platemaking.

Printing:
In the second session, the class participant will learn all aspects of letterpress printing, including setting and printing with type and printing with photopolymer plates on a platen press. Following the review, the class participant will set-up the press, mix ink, prepare paper and proceed to print their design. Post production, including envelope liners, paper cutting and die-cutting can be reviewed, at request.

Requirements:
MUST have basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator. No printing or letterpress experience required, but helpful.

Takeaways:
Set of 20 blind impression notecards printed with metal type and blank envelopes.
*100 cards and envelopes of participants design. 1-sided; up to 2-colors; 110# house stock; and no larger than 5 x 7/A7 envelopes. Alternative paper stocks available for an additional cost.
